    Maintenance of pneumatic tools

    2024-08-21

The biggest problem in the operation and service life of professional grade pneumatic equipment is moisture! Specifically, water vapor. Water vapor is moisture, which is present in the air around us. When air is compressed, the moisture in the inlet air concentrates for every cubic foot of air inhaled. When you compress air, it becomes very hot, and since the air is very hot, the water that accumulates in it will be in the form of steam, however, when the compressed air is passed through the pneumatic tool, it will quickly cool down. If the moisture content of the compressed air is too high, this rapid cooling can cause the pneumatic tool to freeze.

One of the causes of damage and failure of industrial and contractor pneumatic tools and related equipment is water-related problems.

High temperature air can dry out all lubricants in the tool, which can cause surface to surface contact and further damage the gasket and O-ring. It can also adversely affect other components.
